The pepper mill has a 2 stage grinding mechanism which is made of case-hardened steel specially treated to keep the teeth razor sharp and protect it from corrosion. The salt mill mechanism is designed to resist corrosion from dry salts. On board is a classic grind adjustment: turn the top knob tighter (clockwise) for finer grinds; looser (counter-clockwise) for coarser grinds. Made in France.
